One of God's many gifts is when he brings extraordinary people into your life that you would never have encountered except by being part of what he is doing in your life and work. Such is the case with Pastor Bob Kikuyu, Senior Pastor of Lifespring Chapel in Nairobi, Kenya.
As part of the scouting trip to Nairobi, we met some of the staff of Lifespring Chapel. We were impressed with both their heads and their hearts as leaders and the quality and integrity of their ministry in this city. Kim Freeman of our staff was able to meet Pastor Bob and spoke highly of him. I emailed him to thank him for his support of our efforts only to discover he was coming to Denver for some speaking engagements. I immediately invited him to speak to our staff during his visit.
Our staff had the privilege of being ministered to by Pastor Bob yesterday. WOW! There is no way to tell of the quality of this experience. Within seconds it became blatantly obvious this was a man of character, integrity, wisdom, humility, and grace to name a few. His remarks to us were timely, inspired, and with lasting impact. The remarks may appear in condensed form soon on this blog soon. There was this honest, transparent, kindred spirit and bond, that came so naturally with comfortably. What a privilege this was!
Pastor Bob also spent time with our staff providing insight into Nairobi and how we might effectively minister in the city moving forward. His input saved us hours of discussion and decision-making.
We look forward to continuing and expanding our relationship with Pastor Bob and the people of Lifespring Chapel. It is certain to be a meaningful, productive journey.
